Doing 'Good'

Adorable Lacey hosted a lemonade stand at our August Market; maybe you saw the post about Lacey and her Lemonade Stand
Lacey at her lemonade stand, on August Market Thursday
We're happy to follow up with you, and tell you what Lacey did with 100% of the funds collected. Lacey and her family visited the Freeborn County (southern MN) Animal Humane Society and presented them with the money she raised. While there, she even got to hold some of the kitties who will benefit from her efforts~
You see, Lacey's wish was to do something to help them. So, with alot of help from family, she did just that~

Lacey, kitty, and the Humane Society worker who accepted her gift

She worked at the stand all day long (alot of hours for a seven year old!) and due to generous PORCH & Atelier shoppers, she proudly raised over $200 that day. It looks like kitty certainly appreciated it, too~

Gracie was here~

Gracie was here yesterday! What a bright surprise for us each time she walks in the door with Mom and Grandma~

Gracie's not so shy with us now; she didn't hesitate to strike a pose when the camera came out~

Then, she even posed a second time! Her shopping bag is holding vintage doll pants~

Wait a minute! Is that Lacey (lemonade Lacey from Thursday?) - let's look at jewelry!
So intent; lots to look at~
Thank you Gracie & Lacey! ~TERESA

Summer & Lemonade Stands

What feels like summer and evokes childhood memories like a lemonade stand? I wonder just how far back the tradition goes? Lacey (Our Brenda's seven yr old daughter) was at our August Market yesterday, hostessing and operating a very successful operation. She was quite the entrepreneur - everything was planned and organized quite well with the help of Mom, Dad, and Grandparents.

Gary (her cousin) was her able assistant. Lacey was moved to action after watching a local news story, and their family efforts benefited an animal shelter. Now that the lemonade fundraiser here is past, the stand (customizable due to chalkboard paint on three sides) is for sale ($49).

We're reveling in the gorgeous, perfect weather, and looking forward to seeing more of you here today. We're open through Sunday, we'd love to see you ~ TERESA

August Market preview, part TWO

Closed for 'primping'~ just a few more days! Grain sack pillow - it's hard to resist the great graphics~ OK, a favorite for me at this Market - I'm in awe of these three shed doors - arched, their original paint has been sanded and glazed, with three harness hooks each~
Back into black - dressers, tables, and more~

Beautifully glazed whites, too - a dresser and shutter-door cabinet

Nicely sized display/storage vitrine; don't just think dining room anymore~

A touch of brilliant blue in the mix~

Honed marble top on old iron base - think bar, bath, kitchen, espresso stand

Cottage comfort

We always have a few markdowns in the mix - the torchiere lamp is $29~

Newly decoupaged pieces, well done in favored Cavallini prints~
We've barely touched on what's here - you'll be seeing more! ~TERESA

AUGUST Market opening - next week!

It's been a busy, productive week - cleaning, painting, and filling the shop - getting everything ready for you~The behind-the-scenes isn't as interesting as the setting in this print - I've been hauling in from storage, and finding treasures that should be here, for you~ Like the tall tin piece on the brick wall - it was hiding behind other stuff in storage~

The stainless prep table is clean, and ready for staging~

Cleaning, painting, glazing, making repairs. The pink satin headboards are going up to the apartment master bedroom.

We're fully stocked with all kinds of iron hooks - one of our mainstays. You'll find a smaller hook display in the lower PORCH level, too~

Watch for Market photos in the coming days, OK?
We're looking forward to seeing you next week:
Tues Aug 3, 9-12
Wed Aug 4, 9-2
Thu-Fri-Sat Aug 5-6-7, 9-5
