H O M E ~

PARIS is too wonderful, but it's so good to be back home~
Home.  With all the memories and inspiration of all we experienced.
 That feels pretty good, too.
Adam at Musee' Gustave Moreau
We made the most of each day - constantly on the go; and free to change plans when something else caught our fancy, and also stopping when we wished~
We definitely set our record for metro travel around the cite'!
 TWO flea markets!
My JUNK REVOLUTION "I see good junk everywhere' bag (purchased at Ki's shop, JUNK BONANZA 2012) was junking with me!

We marveled at the detail, abundance and perfection

And - the possibilities now open to us!  SO much more to show you - 'bonjour' to each of you for now~  TERESA
PS - APRIL in PARIS registration opens today, Friday February 22!  Call the shop: 763 684-1254, or email theporch@bwig.net  Merci~

MERCI, au revoir~

Our February Market is a wrap.  It's been the 'sale I leave for PARIS after', and here we are~
Feeling all kind of fine and ruffly today!
Twinkly excited, as the tour Eiffel at night - it sparkles on the hour!
Can't wait to visit favorite restaurants~
Admire architecture - eye candy is everywhere~
Return to a favorite shopping area in the Village St. Paul
Stop for cafe' or wine when we feel like it
Ooh and aahh at every turn
  'Bonjour Madame DeJarlais'
Half the fun is finding your way around
And, ooh, we'll be flea marketing at least two days while there~
And bringing back what we can - for you - but of course~
Then, celebrate with our grand April in PARIS event.  At The PORCH & Atelier, Saturday April 13.  We start taking reservations when I'm back - around February 21.  We're closed until that time, so we'll see you then!  a bientot, TERESA

H O M E ~

As grand and wonderful as we left it last time~
As much as we adored the architecture,

savored the food,

junked (French junque!) to our heart's content,

enjoyed reconnecting with favorite things along familiar ways,

inhaled the sight and scent of the fleurs....

and stopped to marvel at every turn~

were awed by grandeur day after day,

the freshness of the offerings, along with....

striking colors.....

there is no place like home~ TERESA

Back to PARIS~ for today

Join me - at one of my favorite PARIS shopsToday, let's go to La Vaissellerie, in the Village Saint Paul neighborhood~Does their sidewalk display give you an idea of what to expect inside?Oh my! Where to start?
La Vaissellerie is known for porcelainware: dishes, serving pieces, and flatware - on and on~Look at all the choices - it's not overwhelming, it's exciting! What do you 'have to have'? Isn't your luggage already over-full?One place to start looking is in the open-stock flatware. Let's add some forks to my set at home~Does that make service for five now?

And, of course - cafe' spoons and then some porcelainware tags to hang on baskets and jars in the pantry~
Remember, we have to think small....

Small souffle'-style cups - I like to use them as butter dishes on the tables at events here~

And, of course - bring enough home for April in Paris, our annual PARIS event at The PORCH & Atelier! These butter dishs are always a tres' populaire prize~
Thanks for taking this petite voyage with me, I had a great time, and can't wait to go back - with you~ TERESA

PARIS Iron~

I love ironwork, and so does PARIS! What a coincidence~
Many colors and styles~ This was a favorite in Paris, around the corner from our hotel. We all stood and marveled, talking about it for a while. At the time, I didn't even notice the 'C' - just the 'M' - . Ironwork monogram style~

Look up and you'll always see more~ Ornate...
...and subtle gray with a repeated treillage motif~ Brown doors with black or bronze iron, and more treillage - I love it~

On the doors and the allee' entrances~

Note the ironwork in two decorative ways~

And, you'll always find the simple iron, too.
I could show you lots of iron knockers and knobs - that's for another day~

Layered eye-candy; start at the bottom of the photo and make notes all the way up~Simple again, that's OK with me, too~
The famous bleu that you see in Paris and AngersAnd, I can't show ironwork without the most famous of all. How perfect to see the old gate in the forefront~

Ah, it's always over too soon. Until our next getaway, think Paris! TERESA
