H O M E ~

PARIS is too wonderful, but it's so good to be back home~
Home.  With all the memories and inspiration of all we experienced.
 That feels pretty good, too.
Adam at Musee' Gustave Moreau
We made the most of each day - constantly on the go; and free to change plans when something else caught our fancy, and also stopping when we wished~
We definitely set our record for metro travel around the cite'!
 TWO flea markets!
My JUNK REVOLUTION "I see good junk everywhere' bag (purchased at Ki's shop, JUNK BONANZA 2012) was junking with me!

We marveled at the detail, abundance and perfection

And - the possibilities now open to us!  SO much more to show you - 'bonjour' to each of you for now~  TERESA
PS - APRIL in PARIS registration opens today, Friday February 22!  Call the shop: 763 684-1254, or email theporch@bwig.net  Merci~

The Sunday load 8-21-11

What fun, spending a morning choosing great stuff for you! A full load - what's in there?
It took creative packing, that's for sure~
Kale plants were an unexpected, fun find~

Among the finds: kale, boxwood, and vines~

In the very bottom of the load, you couldn't see this great iron piece. I love its style~

We unloaded outside the Atelier, sorting what was ready to go in. There's alot of 'industrial' in this load - today we'll be cleaning it all up~

Old factory stool - I love it when I find these~

I spy a Frenchy table! Oh, to me there's nothing better than old gilt mixed in with the galvanized stuff~

If you're looking for 'perfect', this isn't for you. No drawers. But, we have great plans for how to make her an awesome display prop. I can't wait to show her in all of her glory in the Atelier~

I'm off to get the PORCH PARIS prize pack ready. Later today (or Tuesday), I'll announce the winner and show all of the fun stuff coming their way~ Bon week, TERESA

Unintentional French~

You see, I don't go out seeking only 'French', as in "this is a French store". You'll find that isn't what qualifies what's offered in the Atelier - I present you what I love, what will inspire you, quality at a great price, and if that happens to be French or French-inspired, all the better~ Maybe that's why it works~

Our hand-stamped flatware garden stakes are mostly in English, but we've found you like a few French ones, too. Some of the wine candles are in French bottles- pretty normal for wine, right? And, when I came across this secondhand glass candle plate, I decoupaged a map to the underside~

Ah, the Pre de Provence soaps. 100% natural - personal, long lasting natural luxury (for $4.50).

Their velvety lotions are unsurpassed, too.

These new soap/herbal plaques have an aged enamel garden tag on the upper left corner

Our silverplate charms are available in over 60 styles, including alphabet letters. And, yes, fun 'Oui', 'Non', 'Amour', Eiffel towers, and PARIS, too. (Most $2.50-$4.95)

If you're designing a necklace or bracelet for yourself (or choosing a charm to attach to a graduation card), there are word tags, shapes, and beads. Some add to their own necklace, or we bead and sterling silver chains, too~

Bon weekend~ TERESA

FRANCE FRANCE FRANCE-!

Do I love France because it is so traditional, and yet - you see the latest in everything, even the Charles de Gaulle aeroport signage is au currant? We covered alot of miles by plane, train, a little bit of taxi.....and of course - the metro took us everywhere we wanted to go~

We spent a gorgeous Saturday at the Angers flea market; it was packed full ~ Small details to appreciate~Flowers. And more flowers. Is that Mimosa in the forefront? No...it has a different name, and I remember reading one time that it was a favorite of Napoleon's Josephine~
Shopping, shopping = beaucoup baggage. Oh my, how did I do that again?

You do see many people traveling with only a tote or backpack.....not us~ A favorite destination in the Village Saint Paul, Paris - au petite bonheur de la chance: ferme!~
It happens. Our mantra while traveling France? We're happy just to breathe the air~ wait, two doors down - what is that? A new shop find??

This shop wasn't here last time, and she's open today!

My 'marble notebook' - constant companion for journaling, making great plans and lists~
Note for next time: blog from France~
Plenty of time to relax, laugh, and make plans - these tables/chairs are in the courtyard of our home away from home: the Hotel du Mail, in Angers~

We saw all the sites~ and more....
Inspiration and photos galore (I'm going to check if galore is a French word) ~ Bleu - ah, everywhere~
I couldn't resist this shot at the airport yesterday - seeing our direct Minneapolis flight on the departure board - a first for us! Thank you, Delta!

There is so much more to share with you, and I'm looking forward to that~
