More 'upholstered' at the October Market

~You'll find this newly recovered, just arrived 'slipper chair' at our shop today.
Her new damask outfit is fresh, with just enough color punch to make a room look & feel new again. Note her curved tack technique (photo 1) - just enough detail to show off her lovely shoulders.

More October Market photos

~I can't believe the wonderful feeling you get walking through the shop - it's absolutely magical~! Seven of the vendors here with me display in the lower level of the shop. Their styles vary, and each has their specialty. Every one of them is dedicated, talented, and brings in their best pieces for our occasional sale every month. Decorating, displaying, cleaning and updating, they show how to use secondhand pieces. Working with color? - they're experts, and I learn from them.
We hope to see you this week - if you can't be in Buffalo, Minnesota, enjoy the photos and how good it feels to be here~ TERESA

October Market: count the mirrors~

~Large and small, most are old, one is 'new/secondhand'. Fourteen, just in these photos, alone! Three old mirrors have been newly framed in old trim (one in an old window frame, behind the black lyre-back chairs -photo #5). One floor standing, one quadrille-paneled (four panes). A long, gold oval, perfect hung on a wall as a dressing mirror.
Setup, hauling and decorating in the lower level shop was in full-force yesterday, I can't wait to snap those shots for you today~ TERESA

The October Market: upholstered pieces

~This petite, soft olive-colored settee arrived yesterday. Her matching pillows are included, and I'm almost hesitant to post her price ($145).

~Here she is with a coordinating leopard print pillow.

~Tack detail on settee arms and back

We're busy, getting ready to open for you! Hours: Tue 9/29 (9-12), Wed 9/30 (9-2), Thu-Fri-Sat 10/1, 10/2, 10/3 (9-5), Sun 10-4 (12-5).

~'French' style bench, upholstered in a graphic black/white fabric. In photo #1, at the top, you can see two lyre-back armchairs, whose seats are covered in a coordinating 'aloe' black/white print.

October/November 'SPACES' magazine

~Hot off the press!
Thank you, 'SPACES' magazine, for the 'Noon to Three' Buffalo shopping & lunch feature!
The Oct/Nov issue is not yet shown on their website; I'll post the article soon (five pages~). Watch for the magazine, available now, 'free' at several Twin Cities locations: Bachmans, Kowalski's, IMS, and more.
We loved working with them (they're now fans of Buffalo shopping, too).

Gearing up for opening~ next week!

This photo of today's west Atelier window is dark~ restyling the window yesterday, I used many of the finds that were in the pickup load shown on Sunday. Two favorite things: the brown with touches of red rattan/wood table, and the ivory plant stand (there are at least 50 more things in that load that are coming out, too). The length of gold organza fabric draped over the window, was purchased in Angers (France) three years ago. I bring it out every fall to share it's brilliant color. It's dotted with ribbon roses - I'm not a 'rosebud' person, but this organza is classic and gorgeous~

~Among those Sunday finds are nine mirrors - four of them are stacked here, waiting to be cleaned. Some are old, some not so old, and two are new. We love mirrors!

~This sturdy, petite two-tier table has been in the shop for two months - undoubtedly because she came with pink rosebuds/green leaves wreathed on her tiers . So, 'change it up' time - a quick brush of black paint over those buds, and she has a new outlook~
