A little more April in PARIS~

Bonjour~

You may be one of the 87 guests who joined us for April in PARIS....and, if not, maybe you'd like to see and know a bit more?
Everyone brought flowers - how wonderful! Along with the scents of Chef Adam's delicious menu, this was a great place to be that day~
You've seen a few photos of the menu served.....
....and the table settings~
Alot of people wanted the recipes - what a great compliment~

(Photo: Google images)

Chef Adam didn't follow a cookbook when prepping and preparing the menu, BUT - the brioche with goat cheese croutons (served alongside baby arugula with pomegranate molasses) would be easy to recreate. Cut brioche bread into large squares, dip bottom in melted butter, top with honey goat cheese, toast in the oven - enjoy!

That's Alan (bottom - THE Alan, our cabinet builder), Chef Adam's assistant that day.

Thank you to Dawn Elliott for (most of) today's photos. ~TERESA

April in PARIS apartment prep~

We're having a big party here tomorrow! Would you like to see some final touches in the apartment today? View from the entree' to the living room Purple tulip bunches here and there~ We are 'dancing' about April in PARIS here tomorrow~
Some of my favorite things are under the entree' bench. They don't have a prominent display space for tomorrow, but they're pretty enough that I don't have to stash them out of sight~
In the kitchen, a stack of heavy linen/European towels is ready. Chef Adam is prepping the menu today, I can't wait to see him (and Malia) tomorrow morning~
Plates hang in a basket under the wall cabinet~
More purple tulips - in the kitchen~
The French ribbons, rhinestone buckles, more - wait for company in one of the living room cabinets For the first time, the second bedroom and laundry will be open this year, too~

Today, we set up bistro-style vignettes for our guests, in the Atelier. We're opening The PORCH (lower level) for shopping all day Saturday 4/16, stop by if you're around. If you won't be at the event tomorrow, watch for photos of everything next week. A bientot~ TERESA

Springtime in PARIS 2010 part two: food, prizes & the apartment

The MENU at our 2010 Springtime in PARIS event at The PORCH & Atelier~

Chef Adam plans and prepares a unique, delicious, fresh menu for us each year~

He and Malia work well together - no detail is missed~I can't resist showing her here again today~Vichyssoise aux asperges blanc (first course) on the kitchen bar, ready to serve~Fresh carrots, beets, and green beans: blanched, marinated and served cold with fresh Dijon vinaigrette~
Rachel, preparing the wine cocktails served in the apartment~

98% of the prizes (over 50 in all- oh my, we love to give prizes!) were brought home from PARIS last month~ (The crown tray is from Sur la Table, but still acceptable, non?)Souvenir scarves, the', French magazines, Eiffel keychains, cafe au lait spoons, on and on -oh! it was fun!

PARIS shopping here, too - stacks of scarves, bags and bracelets to purchase ~

For those who have toured the apartment before, there were changes in the past year. Like this old aqua shed door, leading into the bedroom~There are now double doors into the bedroom, and I'm loving the European feel!

I hope you can visit me at the apartment sometime~ I love my home in this great old building~ Several people asked how I could ever leave it to do anything else- that's a wonderful compliment, isn't it? It really is magical here~

Fleurs, fleurs, and more fleurs - are you ready for the upcoming feature on all of the gorgeous flowers that were here? Enjoy simple pleasures today~ TERESA
