It's been taunting me all week~

The apartment daybed, that is~Maybe it just knows that I could use a little escape~
It already knew it was the best seat in the house, and then I had to go and primp it up, adding the old featherbed and soft French sheet~

Oh no, not my newest cookbooks and Jeanne d'Arc Living, too?

That old French sheet - heaven in the tight cotton/linen weave, the old soft pure white (you've already noted I didn't iron it....)
If you stopped by, I'd be insisting you sink in and relax a while~
March Market photos are on their way! We're open March 1 (Tues 9-12), 3-4-5 (Thu-Fri-Sat 9-5), 6 (Sun 12-5). ~TERESA

Unintentional French~

You see, I don't go out seeking only 'French', as in "this is a French store". You'll find that isn't what qualifies what's offered in the Atelier - I present you what I love, what will inspire you, quality at a great price, and if that happens to be French or French-inspired, all the better~ Maybe that's why it works~

Our hand-stamped flatware garden stakes are mostly in English, but we've found you like a few French ones, too. Some of the wine candles are in French bottles- pretty normal for wine, right? And, when I came across this secondhand glass candle plate, I decoupaged a map to the underside~

Ah, the Pre de Provence soaps. 100% natural - personal, long lasting natural luxury (for $4.50).

Their velvety lotions are unsurpassed, too.

These new soap/herbal plaques have an aged enamel garden tag on the upper left corner

Our silverplate charms are available in over 60 styles, including alphabet letters. And, yes, fun 'Oui', 'Non', 'Amour', Eiffel towers, and PARIS, too. (Most $2.50-$4.95)

If you're designing a necklace or bracelet for yourself (or choosing a charm to attach to a graduation card), there are word tags, shapes, and beads. Some add to their own necklace, or we bead and sterling silver chains, too~

Bon weekend~ TERESA

Paris on my mind today~

Two of my favorite things: this unique, petite jar (note its glass screw-top lid), holding clear 'glass' gemstones. The gemstones were found at Villa Adriana, rue Bosquet, Paris. Just down the block and over from our usual hotel, it's a digger's dream there.

Photo with shopowner Adriana (2005). In the back of her shop, she has a little office area (complete with bed), she told us she can spend the night if she wants to. Kind of a mini-version of what I do here~

'Simple enough', but also 'special enough' to be here today, on their own~

Gearing up for opening~ next week!

This photo of today's west Atelier window is dark~ restyling the window yesterday, I used many of the finds that were in the pickup load shown on Sunday. Two favorite things: the brown with touches of red rattan/wood table, and the ivory plant stand (there are at least 50 more things in that load that are coming out, too). The length of gold organza fabric draped over the window, was purchased in Angers (France) three years ago. I bring it out every fall to share it's brilliant color. It's dotted with ribbon roses - I'm not a 'rosebud' person, but this organza is classic and gorgeous~

~Among those Sunday finds are nine mirrors - four of them are stacked here, waiting to be cleaned. Some are old, some not so old, and two are new. We love mirrors!

~This sturdy, petite two-tier table has been in the shop for two months - undoubtedly because she came with pink rosebuds/green leaves wreathed on her tiers . So, 'change it up' time - a quick brush of black paint over those buds, and she has a new outlook~
